As of last Monday, I am no longer working at Nu Skin. I worked there for almost 3 years which is the longest I've ever worked at any job. Leaving there was slightly bittersweet, but I'm happy for the chance to spend more time with this cute girl:
She is getting so big. She jabbers to herself a lot now and it's the best. I took a video of her talking and it's not great picture, but I love to hear her little voice.
In other news, O and I are learning a lot about home maintenance. We are in the process of replacing the rotted subfloor in our bathroom. Papa is helping us lay the new particle board down tomorrow. He has been here a couple times already helping us rip out the old stuff and fix the leak. After we get the new subfloor in, I will be laying and grouting some vinyl tile. I will also be hoping I do it right. Supposedly it's very simple, but I have never been good with straight lines. We shall see.
Also, last week our furnace broke. Luckily the weather has been relatively warm, so with the help of a couple electric heaters we have a warm house and the makings of an awesome electricity bill. Owen spent several hours yesterday watching youtube videos about furnace problems/solutions and trying to fix it himself. Hopefully with some help from a technician it will all be figured out tomorrow. Also, the hot water in our shower just quit turning on. Owen fixed that on his own with $3 worth of parts. That's the kind of solution I like.
Yesterday I planted a little herb garden in my kitchen windowsill. I planted basil, chives, cilantro, and oregano in little terracotta pots and lined them up there. I'm really excited about them. Sometime in the next 60-85 days we should be harvesting some delicious herbs (assuming they were planted correctly and also that I water them).
And here is one more look at that adorable face:
I just love her.
